2. Cookie Policy – what cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a user's end device, such as a computer, phone or tablet, while using a website.

Cookies may be used, among other things, to:

  • maintain a user session,
  • recognize that a user is logged in,
  • protect forms and the Account,
  • remember certain settings,
  • ensure proper operation of Service functions,
  • analyze how the website is used – if the relevant analytical mechanisms are enabled,
  • support advertising – if such mechanisms are implemented in accordance with applicable law.

Other technologies using browser or device storage may perform a similar function. The rules described in this Policy apply to them accordingly.

3. Why CPAPAnalyzer uses cookies

CPAPAnalyzer is an online application in which a user may, among other things:

  • create an Account,
  • use the User Dashboard,
  • import data,
  • analyze therapy history,
  • use Reports,
  • use functions for physicians and Facilities.

Some mechanisms for storing information on a user's device are needed so that these functions can operate properly and securely.

CPAPAnalyzer does not require consent for mechanisms that are technically necessary to provide a service requested by the user.

If a mechanism is not necessary for the operation of the Service and its use requires consent, it should be enabled only after the appropriate user consent has been obtained.

4. Cookie categories

Necessary required

Needed for website operation, login, sessions, security and functions requested by the user.

Functional depends on use

They may be used to remember additional user preferences if such a mechanism is implemented.

Analytical consent

They may be used to measure traffic and how the public pages of the Service are used. If they require consent, they are not enabled before consent is obtained.

Advertising consent

If advertising mechanisms using cookies are implemented, they will be subject to the applicable consent rules.

5. Necessary cookies and mechanisms

CPAPAnalyzer may use cookies and similar mechanisms necessary for the operation of the Service.

They may be used, among other things, to:

  • maintain a user session,
  • recognize a logged-in user,
  • secure the login process,
  • support the “remember me” function if the user uses it,
  • ensure form security,
  • protect against abuse,
  • ensure proper operation of the User Dashboard,
  • ensure proper operation of the Professional Dashboard and Facility Dashboard,
  • remember cookie choices if a consent management system is used.

Without some of these mechanisms, certain functions, in particular login and the private Dashboard, may not be available.

Necessary mechanisms are used only to the extent required to provide the requested functionality, security and proper operation of the Service.

6. Functional cookies

Functional cookies may be used to remember additional user settings or preferences.

They may concern, for example:

  • specific interface settings,
  • remembering selected options,
  • settings that make it easier to use certain elements of the Service again.

If a given mechanism is necessary to perform a function explicitly requested by the user, it may be treated as necessary.

If it is not necessary, an appropriate legal basis will be applied and – where required – user consent will be obtained.

7. Analytical cookies

CPAPAnalyzer may, to a certain extent, compile statistics concerning the operation and popularity of the public parts of the Service.

If cookies or similar technologies whose use requires consent are used for such analytics, those mechanisms should be enabled only after consent has been given.

PAP therapy data is not needed to measure the popularity of CPAPAnalyzer's public pages and should not be provided to analytics tools solely for traffic measurement.

Traffic analysis on public pages should not be linked to the individual therapy results of a specific Patient.

8. Advertising cookies and partner activities

CPAPAnalyzer may display advertisements and partner materials.

The basic principle of CPAPAnalyzer's advertising system is contextual advertising rather than targeting based on individual health data.

A specific User's therapy data is not used to determine which advertisement should be shown to that User.

Advertising should not be selected on the basis of:

  • a specific person's AHI,
  • the type of apneas,
  • the number of respiratory events,
  • leak level,
  • therapy pressure,
  • the mask used by a specific person,
  • Mask Test result,
  • other individual health data.

If an advertising mechanism using cookies that require consent is used in the future or as part of a specific campaign, it will be enabled only after the required consent has been obtained.

Campaign statistics may include, among other things:

  • number of impressions,
  • number of clicks,
  • CTR,
  • UTM identifiers.

9. Cookies and PAP therapy data

PAP therapy data may constitute health data subject to special protection.

Cookie mechanisms used to operate the Service are not used by CPAPAnalyzer to profile a user for advertising purposes on the basis of their therapy.

Information about the processing of Therapy Data, legal bases, recipients and use of the OpenAI API can be found in:

the CPAPAnalyzer.pl Privacy Policy .

10. Cookie Policy – user consent

If storing or reading information from the user's device is not necessary for transmitting a communication or providing a service requested by the user, use of such a mechanism may require prior consent.

In such a case, before giving consent the user should receive clear information concerning, among other things:

  • the purpose for which the mechanism is used,
  • the type of cookies used,
  • any external providers,
  • the possibility of refusing or later withdrawing consent.

Consent requiring active action by the user should not be obtained through options selected by default.

Refusal to consent to optional cookies should not prevent the use of basic Service functions that can operate using only necessary mechanisms.

11. Withdrawal and modification of consent

If a specific mechanism is used on the basis of consent, the user should be able to withdraw that consent later.

Withdrawing consent should be no more complicated than giving it.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of operations carried out before consent was withdrawn.

If a consent management system is implemented, the relevant settings may be available directly in the Service.

The user may also manage some cookies through their browser settings.

An additional example of information about privacy and the use of cookies is published by the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

12. Browser settings

Most web browsers allow users to manage cookies.

In browser settings, a user can usually:

  • view stored cookies,
  • delete selected cookies,
  • delete all cookies,
  • block cookies from specific websites,
  • block third-party cookies,
  • limit the ability to store cookies.
Blocking all cookies may cause login, sessions or other CPAPAnalyzer functions to stop working properly.

This applies in particular to mechanisms necessary for user authentication and protection of the Account.

13. Facebook and other external websites

CPAPAnalyzer.pl may contain ordinary links leading to external websites, including:

  • the CPAPAnalyzer.pl Facebook Page,
  • the CPAPAnalyzer.pl Facebook discussion group,
  • partner websites,
  • equipment manufacturer websites,
  • other external services.

An ordinary link to an external website does not automatically mean that a tracking mechanism of that external service is embedded in CPAPAnalyzer.

After clicking a link, the user leaves CPAPAnalyzer.pl and the external service may use its own cookies in accordance with its privacy and cookie policies.

This includes, among other things, services belonging to Meta Platforms, the operator of Facebook.

14. Hosting and infrastructure

The CPAPAnalyzer.pl Service is hosted on the infrastructure of LH.pl.

The server may also automatically record technical information related to the connection, in particular server logs.

Server logs are not the same as cookies, although some technical information, such as an IP address, may be processed in parallel in connection with use of the Service.

Detailed information about the processing of technical data can be found in the Privacy Policy.

15. Cookie Policy – how long cookies are retained

The retention period depends on the function of the specific mechanism.

Cookie categories, their nature, purpose and retention period
Type Nature Typical purpose Period
Session cookies necessary handling the current session usually until the session ends or the browser is closed, depending on configuration
Authentication / login necessary maintaining access for a logged-in user depends on login settings and the “remember me” function
Security necessary protection of forms, sessions and the Account for the period technically necessary to perform the function
Cookie preferences necessary or functional remembering consent choices for the period needed to remember the choice
Analytical optional traffic statistics in accordance with the information presented when consent is obtained
Advertising optional advertising functions, if implemented in accordance with the information presented when consent is obtained

Specific periods may depend on the technical configuration of the mechanism.

CPAPAnalyzer does not declare cookie names or exact lifetimes where their actual presence in the Service has not been confirmed.

16. Changes to the Cookie Policy

The Cookie Policy may be updated, in particular if:

  • the way the Service operates changes,
  • new functions are added,
  • new analytics are implemented,
  • new advertising mechanisms are added,
  • technology providers change,
  • applicable laws or their interpretation change.
